LadyBalance - when it’s time to change course
Considering a change of course in your life? If you struggle with recurrent intimate issues, it may be worth taking a closer look at the lifestyle factors that research links to the risk of imbalance in the vaginal flora.
Lifestyle and bacterial vaginosis - what does the research show?
A large Australian study found a clear association between certain lifestyle choices and the risk of developing bacterial vaginosis (BV). According to the researchers, there are both protective and risk-increasing factors that can influence whether balance in the vagina is maintained or disturbed.
Protective factors
- Steady sexual partner
- Use of the contraceptive pill
- Use of condoms
Risk-increasing factors
- Multiple changing sexual partners
- Smoking, drug use and high alcohol consumption
- Sex with female partners – the study showed a 230% higher risk
- Use of an intrauterine device (IUD)
LadyBalance and changes in legislation
In March 2021, it was no longer permitted to market LadyBalance intimate tablets as a treatment for bacterial vaginosis, thrush or dryness. This is due to stricter documentation requirements – not changes to the product. The tablets are now sold as a hygiene product without health claims, but the contents are unchanged.
Still available - just not at Matas
You may have seen that Matas previously marketed the product as Medicare vaginal tablets. These tablets were identical to LadyBalance. However, Matas chose to discontinue cooperation when the marketing rules changed. You can still buy the original LadyBalance intimate tablets in our webshop.
If you don’t change habits - LadyBalance can still support you
Not everyone wants or is able to change lifestyle. Fortunately, LadyBalance still exists. Intimate tablets with milk sugar support the vagina’s own lactic acid bacteria and help create conditions to restore the natural balance.
